We 're working to bring treatments for Rett Syndrome home

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My crazy bike ride from London to Paris (over ONLY 3 days!)  will be in aid of British Heart Foundation, who organise the ride, and Rett Syndrome Research Trust.  The first £500 goes to BHF and the remainder to RSRT and this page is dedicated to RSRT.
I only became aware of Retts when my best friend's little niece, Lauren, was diagnosed with this horrible condition three years ago, leaving her unable to walk, talk, express herself or use her hands properly (as well as lots of other awful symptoms) even though she obviously understands a lot.  You can read more about Rett Syndrome here .  A depressing read, however in the last 12 months research for the disease has seen incredible steps forward, providing the potential to finally give Rett families the news they are desparately waiting to hear - that they have the choice to help their daughters be better, that there is a cure.
This year Lauren's mum, Helen, turned 40 and has launched 'The Fabulous 40' fund raising challenge, whereby 40 friends and relatives (in fact now heading towards 50) have all pledged to raise funds for RSRT.   My fund-raising is linked to this challenge.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
