Story

I am running the Belfast marathon on Monday 7th May and whilst this is a bit of a challenge (never again -although I have said that 4 times before), it is nothing on the challenge one of my oldest friends and her family are going through just now.

A couple of months ago Maddie and Rob received the news that their unborn baby was suffering from a very rare congenital disease called LCDH - basically the baby's (nicknamed "Nemo") diaphragm did not form properly and consequently everything that should be in the baby's abdomen has moved into the baby's chest pushing the heart to the right and more importantly preventing the lungs from forming properly.

Maddie is in London just now, undergoing pioneering treatment under Prof Kypros Nicolaides and his team. This treatment is going to give Nemo a chance. However, treatment like this couldn't go ahead without vital fundraising which is why I am asking you to donate whatever you can to help Nemo and other babies in need.

Thanks,
