Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro · 17 September 2019

We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Most of us have friends, family and colleagues who have been affected in many ways by mental health issues, conquering their own mountains. MIND are on a journey to provide support, advice and respect for everyone with a mental health problem. They have already made some significant changes and with improvements in public attitude, support is growing. However there is much more to do.

This climb links with the current campaign 'Mountains for Mind'. The mountain is symbolic of the struggles we can all face throughout our lives. To quote Sir Edmund Hillary "It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves".

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world, taking 8 days of arduous trekking and climbing at incredibly high altitude to reach the summit.

My fund-raising activities and events include a Quiz Night, Movie Night, good old Bob-A-Job month, Easter Egg Hunt, Treasure Hunts and lots, lots more. My training includes climbing Snowdon and my first Munros in Scotland, I've joined a running club and daily gym classes, drastically reduced my chocolate intake and am planning many, many other walks.

It is important to me that you know any donations will go directly to this worthy cause. The entire cost of the trip is being funded separately, with personal contributions from each member of the climbing team.

Thank you in advance. You have no idea how much it means to myself and MIND to have your support.

Thank you.
