Helen's daughter Ella was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was 11 months old and she is now 11 years old.  On a daily basis she has to inject herself at least 4 times a day, count carbs and have regular visits to the hospital - none of which anyone let alone a child should have to do.  Our big hope for Ella is one day they find a cure for Type 1 and by doing the GNR we feel like we are doing a small bit to help.

I am running the Great North Run 2014 as part of Team Ella with Helen Verwoert, Catherine Wilkins, Nina Banks & Dave Pearson.
