My story

Last year we welcomed Edik and Dima into home for 3 weeks of respite care. Why? To help make a difference to their life’s. This year we plan to invite another two children for respite care and I want to help raise the funds to make this possible.

On 26th April 1986 the World’s worst nuclear accident took place at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station in the Ukraine; as the contaminated winds blew North, a considerable part of Belarus, the neighbouring country populated by 2.2 million people, was subjected to radioactivity of various density.

Most of us have forgotten about this event, yet despite this passing of time many children are being born today suffering from the effects of this disaster.

As a result over 1.5 million children are at high risk of contracting cancer or leukaemia.  There has been an 800% increase in thyroid diseases.  The entire country of Belarus has become a zone of international ecological disaster.

Imagine: Living the rest of your life in a radioactive polluted environment. There is no escape. Money cannot buy protection.

Imagine: Eating food that may harm you, but what else can you do?

Imagine: Coming to the UK and eating fresh food and breathing fresh air and going home with your immune system recharged.

Imagine: Knowing that people DO care.

Imagine: Helping these innocent children to become the future of their country, bringing back hope and leadership for a new generation
