Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Children with language and communication difficulties need a strong voice. Afasic offers parents and carers the support to strengthen that voice. In the national year of communication Afasic need our help. With that in mind I intend to leave my computer and cosy office and walk! The plan is to fly to Lukla, high in the mountains, and then trek along the Kumbu valley in Nepal for about 13 days in April. I will say Hello (‘Nameste’ in Nepali) to the children and families that I meet along the way. The aim is to reach Lake Gokyo (4,750m), a less travelled route than Everest base camp, but equally challenging (certainly for someone as old as me!). I’ll be walking for about 5 hours a day & I’ll get as far as I can. There are many challenges – the trek, the altitude and the duration. Please support Afasic through sponsoring my walk to the peak of the Nepali Himalayas -Every penny sponsored goes to Afasic! I’m hoping Afasic will be in a stronger position to support all children and their families as a result.
