"Pack a Pillow" (Lubasi Project) · 6 September 2012

The Butterfly Tree supports rural communities, most especially orphans decimated by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Zambia. We provide safe clean water, feeding programs, health, and education facilities and sustainability. We are all volunteers both in the UK and Zambia, no personal fees are deducted.

Story

Please give generously to help pack a pillow full of essentials (and a few treats) for the orphans at the Lubasi Home in  Zambia. Lubasi is home to over 40 children who have either lost their parents to AIDS or whose families have been unable keep them. They are raised with love and dedication by their Lubasi "mothers" but their living conditions reflect the deprivation and lack of resources of the area.

We noticed on our visit that their beds had no pillows and the Zambezi Sun Hotel has kindly agreed to donate one to each child. We are now raising funds to give each child a special pillowase for their pillow, packed with items that will put a smile on their faces - trainers or flip-flops, a T-shirt, socks, pens and pencils.

Each pillowcase will cost £25 and the fantastic Butterfly Tree Charity www.thebutterflytree.org.uk has agreed to use the funds raised through this page to buy the pillowcases, pack them with these essentials and deliver them to the children.  We would be so grateful if you'd donate a pillowcase or part of a pillowcase to these lovely children.  Any donation, however small, would be greatly appreciated.

So please dig deep and donate now.Thank you!
