As all my friends know I am passionate about our town twinning with Timbuktu. Just a small amount of money can make a big difference. Last year we raised £4000 and were able to increase the number of women having antenatal care in Bellaferandi, Timbuktu by over 100%. Given that the lifetime risk of dying in childbirth is 1 in 7 we hope we will be making a big difference. As well as keeping this improvement going we now want to look at ambulances and training.
