Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Alder Hey Hospital does amazing work for sick children and their families. My nephew was a patient a few years ago.
In 2019 Alfie was involved in a serious road accident and spent many months in Alder Hey, he is now down south for rehabilitation. Barry and Katie his parents, older brother Jack and sister Lucy and all his extended family are so grateful for the care he received. I am swimming the length of Ullswater 7 miles in my swimsuit in July 2021 to raise money in appreciation of the great work they did for Alfie and all other patients and families.
I was a nurse for many years and now I’m retired I’m giving back in my own way by undertaking endurance swims.
2020 has been an unusual and testing year due to the covid-19 pandemic. My plans for this year changed but my wish to raise funds for this amazing hospital haven't changed. My page will remain open till the end of 2021 and I will be setting myself other challenges along with my aim to swim the length of Ullswater next July.
Watch out for updates and new challenges as time progresses.
