Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Run Tatton 10k in November on behalf of Mesothelioma UK.
This is a charity very close to my heart. My gorgeous husband was diagnosed with this devastating terminal cancer last year at the age of just 57 and our lives have been turned upside down.
It is a rare and little known of cancer purely caused by exposure to asbestos - affecting the lining of the lungs. We had never heard of it let alone pronounce it. It was a huge shock. It is very difficult to diagnose - not presenting symptoms unfortunately until an advanced stage - and at present is incurable. Very little money seems to be available for research - it is a relatively rare cancer which is very much overlooked - and this wonderful charity needs all the help they can get. Money raised goes towards clinical research and helps towards providing specialist nurse care throughout the country; something we have personally found to be invaluable and a huge support at this difficult time. Also towards making people asbestos aware. Please help if you can, every donation however small helps. Thank you all for your time and wish me luck.
