<p>Thank you for visiting the fundraising page of the Great Highland Hurtle, raising funds for the Highland Rheumatology Unit, based in Dingwall.</p>
<div>This Unit, the only one of its kind in <span id="lw_1300220413_2" class="yshortcuts">Scotland</span>, provides unparalleled inpatient and outpatient care for sufferers of <span id="lw_1300220413_3" class="yshortcuts">rheumatic conditions</span>, transforming the lives of sufferers, allowing them to remain independent. The Highland Rheumatology Unit (HRU) is a lifeline for families coping with chronic joint disease and my family was fortunate enough to have had the support of the HRU during my mum's battle with a most debilitating form of rheumatoid arthritis. </div>

<div>My mum was the bravest and most courageous person you could ever hope to meet and it is in her memory that I take up the Great Highland Hurtle - cycling 320 miles around the Highlands in 5 days, starting on the 22nd June.</div>
