Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In December 2012 Maria was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma a type of blood cancer. She started chemotherapy in February 2013 which lasted 9 months followed by radiotherapy over Christmas 2013.
Unfortunately this did not do the trick and salvage chemotherapy started in April 2014. After two doses remission still didn't happen and so a third chemotherapy regime started. This worked and an autologous stem cell transplant followed in December 2014.
Macmillan were great during this entire time and provided so much support for which I am so grateful.
By running the marathon and raising money for this great charity I feel like I'm giving something back! Maria is a very brave woman and this marathon will be easy to what she has gone through in comparison. Also big shout out to her specialist nurse at UCLH!
