Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Update: Jake, Alex and Kurt completed the 10 mile ride on Sunday 9th October and even though it was a little windy at times (the weather and not just the boys) they managed to complete in 2 hours and 45 minutes which is a fantastic achievement, even the 'problem chain' didn't hinder the ride - thank you to everyone that has sponsored and supported the boys - we are very proud of them.

Alex and Jake Jungmann are currently 'training' to undertake a 10 mile bike ride around Rutland Water in October 2011 with Daddy Kurt.

This venture came about after the boys learnt more about the current drought situation in Africa during Harvest festivals at school.

Alex came up with the idea of the bike ride himself which his Mummy and Daddy are very proud of. "Mummy, there are lots of children in Africa who don't have anything, they don't even have any water and that's not fair is it, I've seen a boy on telly who did a bike ride and people gave him money and he helped some people to get some water, Mummy I'd really like to do that - I could even ride for ten miles"

As a family we have decided to raise money for the charity 'Village Water' which provides hygiene education and sustainable water for rural villages in western Zambia. They install shallow wells with manual water pumps that allow the people to draw uncontaminated water from underground, as well as providing hygiene education to the rural villages.

£30 could provide hygiene education, improved sanitation and clean water for one person, for life.

£240 could buy all the cement needed to install a new well.

£450 could pay for a brand new water pump.

So please dig deep and donate now - does it really take a 6 and 8 year old to make us see what is needed sometimes in this world.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We will update this page throughout the next few weeks so please come back and see how the 'Jungmann-Brothers' are getting on.
