Situated in one of the most marginalised regions of the Philippines, the nine Hanuno-Mangyan tribal communities of Magsaysay are living well below the poverty line.
While a series of new livelihood programmes such as harvesting and planting have begun to generate income for the region, clean, safe drinking water is still in short supply.
Filthy and contaminated with deadly diseases, the little water left in the area since last year’s droughts leaves families at serious risk of illness.
Just a Drop’s mission is to supply the villages with a sustainable, hygienic water source and develop a reliable irrigation and agricultural resource. Our aim is to install a spring providing 3,500 litres of fresh water on a daily basis. More than 40 households will benefit from the new supply, significantly reducing the risk of disease and boosting life opportunities.
But to do this, we need your help. To make this project work we must raise £6400 in the next three months.
To support this life changing initiative and provide some of the world’s poorest children with access to clean water, please donate today.
Thank you
