Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

'I am running the London marathon for Poole NHS Trust to raise the profile of the project to build a new Maternity Hospital in Poole which is so desperately needed by the staff working at the hospital, and also the people in Poole and Dorset who have to use the existing building. The existing hospital is in a sorry state and desperately needs re-building. I understand local MP's have now raised the issue in Parliamentary Question Time and it is important that the momentum to build the new facility is maintained. Funding has become difficult in the last few months.

As the regional manager of Interserve who are the construction partners working with Poole NHS Trust to build the new hospital I really want this exciting project to get underway as soon as possible. We are in the midst of difficult economic times and this Flagship project will provide much needed employment for our staff, designers and all our subcontractors and suppliers, the vast majority being local Dorset and Hampshire based businesses.

So please pull out all the stops and donate generously - it is hard graft for me to get myself fit enough to run this as I am now the wrong side of 50!'
