<p><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><span style="color: #000000;">Hi, my name is Justine Remillard, I am 16 years old and am an Explorer Scout. I have been lucky enough to be chosen to represent Berkshire at the <span style="color: #000000;">22nd World Scout Jamboree</span> in Sweden next summer.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><span style="color: #000000;"><br /></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><span style="color: #000000;">The Jamboree is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am extremely grateful and excited. It is a chance to meet with other young people from different <span style="color: #800080;"><span style="color: #000000;">c</span><span style="color: #000000;">ountries</span></span> and cultures. In total there are 40,000 participants going to this huge event, from 160 countries!!! To take part in this 3 weeks adventure, each participant needs to raise £2100.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><span style="color: #000000;">My fundraising will also help those Scouts who would otherwise not be able to participate in the Jamboree and assist a Scout with the costs for transportation, participation fee, entry visas and camp equipment. </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><span style="color: #000000;">I have been busy doing fundraising events like bag packing, car parking, tuck shops/BBQ at Baseball tournaments and Scouts events, babysitting, selling badges and books, providing animation for tea with Father Christmas events and more to come in 2011!</span></span></p>

<p><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em>En mars 2010 j'ai eu la chance d'être sélectionnée parmi 140 participants pour représenter mon comté, Berkshire, au Jamboree Scout Mondial en Suède, à l'été 2011.</em></span></p>

<p><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em>Le Jamboree a lieu tous les 4 ans et n'arrive qu'une seule fois dans la vie d'un scout: les participants ont entre 14 et 17 ans. J'ai tellement hâte de rencontrer les jeunes des autres pays, de découvrir leur culture et de vivre cette grande aventure en Suède. Il y aura 40 000 participants, venant de plus de 160 pays ayant un point commum: le scoutisme. Pour participer à cette aventure de 3 semaines, je dois récolter un minimum de £2100. Cet argent servira à subventionner le séjour des scouts de pays moins riches.</em></span></p>

<p><span style="color: #0000ff;"><em>Depuis le mois de mars, j'ai été très active pour mon financement et j'ai récolté des fonds en faisant de l'emballage au supermarché, beaucoup de gardiennage, j'ai organisé des BBQs et ventes de breuvages et collations à des tournois de baseball et activités scoutes, j'ai vendu des écussons scouts et des livres, obtenu des subventions, j'ai aidé dans un stationnement et j'ai amusé des enfants qui venaient goûter avec le Père Noël. J'ai d'autres activités en perspective pour 2011.</em></span></p>
