Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for 2005!
As part of my fitness campaign to return to shape after diagnosis and treatment for Breast Cancer I succeeded in walking the Loch Ness Marathon on Sunday 2nd October with my friend Phyl (no.1157). We took 7.25hrs and finished 1139 & 1140 out of 1144 finishers, keeping up a steady pace of 3.6miles/hour.
Having already taken part in the Aberdeen (May), British (July)and Glasgow (Sept)10K's and the Aberdeen 5K Race for Life (June). My plan is now to continue on with the fitness campaign and run/jog the Arbroath Smokie in March and possibly a half marathon in 2006, before embarking on running a marathon to show I'm back but probably not until 2007!!
HOWEVER I've set myself a bit of a different challenge for next month, i'm joining other folk from CLAN and taking part in a 'fire walk'! Wednesday 9th Nov sees me walking across hot coals(?), so if you've not sponsored me yet you still can!?!
For those of you who are unaware, CLAN is an independent charity for anyone affected by any type of cancer at any time from diagnosis onwards. Their services are available whether affected personally, as a carer, family member or close friend.
Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLAN will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
