We need your help.
Our charity is in the process of establishing an international arts centre in Nepal, which has a rich and centuries-old artistic tradition largely unknown to the West. One of the project's core elements is a library, for which we have been collecting art books and art magazines over the last 18 months. Thanks to the generosity of Tate Britain and others, we now have 86 boxes waiting to go to Kathmandu, a total of 617 art magazines and 1,784 books.
Gulf Air has generously agreed to transport the books at half its usual cargo rate. But we also need to get the books to Heathrow and from the airport in Kathmandu.
COST:
£ 200.00 (estimated) Packing, collecting books etc
£ 172.50 collecting books and taking them to Heathrow
£1,266.40 air freight - this is half the usual price that Gulf Air would charge for this
£ 100.00 collecting them at TIA airport in Kathmandu and taxes.

We had been given a verbal agreement by an original sponsor for the transport, but by the time we had collected the books 18 months later, policy at the head office had changed and unfortunately ours was one of the projects that fell by the wayside.
