Virtual Edinburgh Marathon 2021 · 30 May 2021 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Pancreatic cancer is an aggressive form cancer that claims many lives in the UK.  As a medical student and having worked in research, I understand the absolute necessity for funding vital research in the effort to beat this disease. Big strides have been taken in the treatment of other cancers, such as breast cancer, however pancreatic cancer remains extremely difficult to treat and diagnose. I am running the Edinburgh Marathon in memory of Jane Burn, in partnership with the Three Bears Foundation, which was set up by Chris Burn (my friend) in memory of his late mother, lost too soon to pancreatic cancer. We want to make sure that everyone affected by it gets all the help they need. We are supporting those affected by the disease, investing in ground breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer and being a voice for everyone involved in the fight. Together we are taking on pancreatic cancer.
