Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The KEMP Kids Four team consists of Anne Rendell, Karen Morton, Katrina Wakefield & Bev Weston and our cox, Sally, from Bewdley Rowing Club.
Anne & Karen work on the Family Support Team at KEMP Hospice and when we were asked to form a rowing team to raise funds for KEMP, we were happy to rise to the challenge of training for and taking part in the Bewdley Rowing Club Pub and Club Regatta 2013 on 1st June 2013.
The event is organised for crews of persons with no or very little rowing experience. During May the crews will be coxed by rowing club members resulting in races for men, women and mixed crews in coxed fours over a 400m downstream course.
As well as the races on the water, the day also involves ergo competitions, a disco and barbecue. It's very much a family day with fun to be had by all, participants and spectators alike.
We also really value the support of Billie-Jo Evans, who unfortunately, could not continue training due to an injury, as well as the KEMP for Kids Youth Forum, who are gathering sponsors.
At KEMP Hospice we are able to support patients with all forms of life-limiting illnesses not just cancer. We take a holistic view of patient care offering anything from symptom control, relaxation classes through to spiritual care. We also provide bereavement support for residents of the Wyre Forest & surrounding areas including children & young people via KEMP For Kids.
Why KEMP needs your support
At KEMP Hospice, our services are provided free of charge to our patients and their families. Each year approximately seven weeks running costs are funded by the Primary Care Trust, so the remaining forty five weeks are funded by the good nature of the local community.
