My story

I'm running in the Great North Run on 20 September for Woodlands MS Respite Centre in York.  I got to know about Woodlands when my mother, who had MS, was a guest there.  Woodlands provides high quality, holistic care to people affected by MS, offering them support and motivation, respecting each person's individuality, privacy, dignity, choice and rights.

When I moved to York I started voluntary work with Woodlands.  I work in their charity shop and help out at fund raising events and collection days.  It's my way of putting something back, helping people who are coping with MS and remembering my mother who, sadly, died 2 years ago.

So, the Great North Run - I'm not looking to break any records (a bit difficult to better Paula Radcliffe's 1 hour 5 mins) but I am up for the challenge and will complete the 13.1 miles, knowing that my success and the money I raise through your sponsorship will help make a positive difference to those affected by MS.
