Story

So I've decided to hang up those running shoes (for a while) and put my dear ol' bike to good use.. I will be cycling 51 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh as part of the Pedal for Scotland Challenge in September, and I hope to raise some money for Maggie's this time!

Cancer changes lives - not just that of the individual with the diagnosis, but the people around them as well.. Maggie's is an organisation which supports people who have been diagnosed with cancer, as well as their carers. They provide support in the form of emotional and psychological support, and relaxation and stress management. Having spent a day with the Maggie's team before, I'm deeply moved by their efforts to make every day a little bit brighter and a little less difficult for the individual and their carer.. So I thought I'd do my part and raise £3 for every mile that I cycle..

I will greatly appreciate it if you could spare a few pounds and support me raise £153 for Maggie's! The plan is to start training in June - which will probably include long cycles around Edinburgh (and beyond, if I'm adventurous enough!).. Anyone who's interested to join me is more than welcomed to come along! I will hopefully take some photographs of my cycling trips and put them up on Facebook.. Any form of support (cycling buddies, cycling kit that you don't need anymore, or a simple smile/wave when you see me cycling around!) will be received with open arms..

Hope you'll have a good day and start donating!!
