We decided that it would be good to raise some money for a worthwhile Optical charity that was far reaching and so went with Vision Aid Overseas. However, we thought that we should really earn your donations! So in a moment of 'madness' decided that challenge should be to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
Mt Kilimajaro is the highest mountain in Africa at 19340 feet above sea level and is the highest free standing mountain the the world! The climb is challenging and will take us through 5 major eco-zones: rainforest, heath, moorland, alpine desert and glaciers.
We are sure that you will all agree that it will be a very tough physical and mental challenge, but should we make it to the top , a very rewarding one. We hope you will be able to support us in this worthwhile cause.

This is due to the significant lack of eyecare services available in low and middle income countries. For people affected the consequences can be disadvantage and disability. Our vision is a world in which everyone has access to eyecare and spectacles."
