Story
All donations for Philippines will be matched by Barclays!
As we know already, an unprecedented storm: Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines with sustained winds of at a ferocious 147mph and gusts of 170mph.
Early reports of severe devastation say:
Affected : 9 million people
Toll : over 10,000 dead
Entire region is without any electricity and water and has left 1000s of children orphaned!
IAHV UK is fundraising for the victims of the Typhoon which has killed and made homeless thousands of people in the Philippines.
Our people on the ground in the Philippines are presently identifying and training volunteers and putting an action plan in place.
They are partnering with Gawad Kalinga and other local NGO’s for effective logistical support. Top priority is meeting basic needs. Later, our volunteer teams will go to the affected areas to conduct Breath Water Sound programs (Trauma-relief workshops) and work with the survivors towards rehabilitation.
What they have requested now is funding to answer the immediate need of distributing food and water and then they can put a sustainable long term relief effort in place.
Any help from IAHV supporters in the UK would be much appreciated.
IAHV- Europe, and IAHV- UK have just heard back from local IAHV team in Philippines who are busy addressing the immediate call for food & water. They need all the help from us.
