Sleep Out 2014 - London · 6 November 2014 ·

Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homeless charity. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 16-25 year olds into a home and a job every year. Our award-winning helpline provides support to vulnerable young people across the country. We campaign to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Story

Dear friends

I know you must all receive a million emails asking for donations and sponsorship and I'm about to add to this!

Last November, I "slept" out on the streets at Liverpool Street for the night on behalf of the charity Centrepoint. For just one night, I experienced what thousands of young homeless people go through every single day. Yet it wasn't the same, I could get up in the morning, go home, have a hot shower and some food.

Last year as a MediaCom team, we helped raise £10,000 for the charity and we're hoping to beat it this year. I will again be sleeping out but this time at The Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, London E1 6QL

I would be eternally grateful if you could donate anything you can spare and sponsor me. Yes I know it's not running a marathon, swimming a channel,  completing a triathalon or scaling a huge summit, and in comparison, giving me money to sleep doesn't seem like to much of a challenge!? However, I genuinely and whole heartedly believe that given the right support, resources and opportunity, any young person in the UK could and should have a bright future ahead of them. Not having somewhere to call home casts a huge shadow over this future, so please do help.

Thanks in advance for reading and any support you can give (even if it's dropping by on the night with a flask of chicken soup!).

Much love

Karen xx
