We support young, talented athletes to overcome barriers to future success

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

7 years ago, someone did something unbelievably kind for me.  After a devastating running accident, I was left facing an extensive recovery and programme of rehabilitation.  One of my coaches at the time, John Nuttall decided to raise funds to assist with my recovery by running the London Marathon...with 9 days notice.  I will be eternally grateful for his gesture and promised him at the time that when I was done with track running, I would run a marathon to raise funds that might help another athlete in need.  And so here I am!

The Ron Pickering Memorial Fund (RPMF) helps to support the dreams and progress of young athletes and has helped set many aspiring champions on the road to success.  John and I agreed that this would be a great way of giving something back to the sport that taught me so much.

By supporting the RPMF you may be helping to launch the career of the next Jessica Ennis, Christine Ohuruogu or Mo Farah and you will be helping a young athlete to realise their dreams and reach their potential.

Thank you for your support : )
