Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page to read about my plan to complete a 100m abseil down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth for friends very close to my heart. I should also mention I'm not terribly good with heights...
Shortly after his 3rd birthday my friend’s son Elliot and best buddy of my son James, was diagnosed with a rare rheumatic condition - Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM). Elliot is now 8 years old and for much of his young life has suffered with varying degrees of muscle weakness and skin rash, the main symptoms of this disease. There is currently no cure for JDM, managing the symptoms involves Elliot enduring weekly injections, daily medication, regular blood tests and physiotherapy.
Elliot and his family are bravely living with JDM. This has inspired me to take a massive leap of faith to help a charity that so kindly helps sufferers and their families, the Myositis Support Group. The Myositis Support Group also fund and promote research into JDM and other myositis diseases. Donations are so important to improve the future of sufferers like Elliot and his family. If you would like to sponsor me in support of this charity and its' invaluable work, please do so now via my JustGiving page or

Please dig deep and sponsor me now ready for Monday 27th May, the bank holiday Monday, so there’s no excuse for not coming along to cheer me down. I don't walk down the outside of tall towers for just anybody you know!
Many, many thanks for your support,
Karen xx
