Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I've been a trustee of IDE-UK for a few years now, during that time we have restructured gone through the pain of moving from a Founder led organisation to CEO led and have an excellent new chair and CEO and a dynamic board.
We have an urgent need to raise £4000 in unrestricted funds to keep running whilst our new programme concepts are being evaluated by Comic relief, the European Commission and DiFD. Our programmes in places such as India, Myanmar, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia are proven to enable improved yields and profits, build supply chains and result in poor people being able to grow and trade their way out of poverty. I believe passionately that we have a model that works and so….
I will be taking to the Sea in November and swimming from Weymouth to Portland for the first time in 25 years to try and raise £4000 so am contacting everyone who is in my address book!
Yes it will be cold and no I haven't been in training but that starts this week! and no there will be no pictures of me in swimming gear on the site - thanks!!!!
Please give as generously as you can and think of us if you are looking for a charity to support through your own event, fund or within your CSR programme. One thing you can do is send my email on to your own networkJ a few pounds from a lot of people makes a real difference and Corporate supporters are key to sustained growth.
We are part of an international organisation, based in Denver, India and Ethiopia which the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation supports, naming us as one of the 6 organisations in the world with a model which can truly help end global poverty. The UK operation is small and in need of support and profile raising but is extremely well positioned now to grow, with excellent Governance and a history of successful projects using a fully sustainable model. So anything could think of doing to help us grow our UK operation would be very gratefully received.
