No, I am not raising
money to have a boob job.
I have the heart monitor and the beginners guide to running a marathon so what else do I need??? Last year, as I sat in the pub, when my friends came in from doing the Marathon I decided it was something I wanted to do. Taking into account the furthest I have run (on a 'proper run') is about 5km, the fact that I have a bust knee from a run in with a mountain on a snowboard and that I hate running and find it unbelievably boring, this idea was rather stupid and may only have come from having had several pints of beer. However, as a rather strange (and stupid) way of celebrating the year I hit the big 30, I am running (I say running but this bit may change) the London Marathon.
The key bit then was to look for a charity that meant something to me and a charity that will benefit massively from some fundraising. When I found the Mental Health Foundation I knew that they were the charity I wanted to run for. Depression is often an illness that is ignored and is unfortunately still a massive taboo but having seen someone I love so much - my amazing and outgoing Mum – suddenly unable and unwilling to get out of bed/not wanting to go out/not wanting to see people, I know how this illness can really hit people. So here goes 6 months of painful training through rain, snow, ice for you Mum and for all the other people who suffer from this awful illness.
I really appreciate all your donations which will keep me running when I can no longer feel my legs, want to die and wish that the boob job was the thing I had in common with Jordan.........
Many thanks. MWAH xx
