Story
In 2013, my loving partner Jason, doting father to Connor, was diagnosed with a terminal illness. He was given just weeks to live.
Jason was admitted as an inpatient to the Martlets Hospice on 4th November 2013 where he was to receive end of life care. Naturally, we were all devastated, anxious and afraid and could not begin to imagine how we would cope throughout this time.
The staff at the Martlets were caring, understanding and compassionate and were able to offer Jason, family and friends continuous support during this difficult time.
We were all able to spend precious time together as a family in calm, tranquil surroundings knowing that support was readily available around the clock.
After a courageous battle, Jason passed away peacefully and pain free on 26th November 2013 with me at his side.
Jason spent 22 days in total at the Martlets, and I will never be able to thank them enough for all that they did. They are truly amazing and will always remain a charity close to my heart.
I have decided, despite not having a head for heights, to participate in the Peacehaven abseil in July to help raise vital funds for the Martlets.
By showing your support, any donation will be greatly received and will be seen as a tribute to the memory of Jason.
