EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have always wanted to run the London Marathon, and my decision to do this was compounded by the death of my mother just over a year and a half ago. It's still hard to believe that such a special woman who was so kind and giving to everyone is no longer here. She was just 62 years old, and following a fall she suffered a traumatic brain injury and fell into a coma from which she never recovered.

Spending that time with her and other families who were going through the same experience, is a time I will never forget. It opened my eyes to how fragile life is from a single blow to the head and how drastically it can effect each and everyone of us. Please help me to raise money for others who may have a better chance of survial and rehabilitation with the money raised for Headway. They are a tremendous charity and it would be wonderful to see other people benefitting from this, although sadly my mother never had that chance.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

With much thanks and appreciation of your support.

Karen x
