Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On January 9th 2011, my brother and I lost our wonderful Mum to cancer. Our Mum fought her illness with such bravery and courage and our Dad cared for her at home until we made the decision that more care was required.
On January 5th, Mum was taken into St Mary’s Hospice for her end of life care. St Mary's is a place that we wish that you never have to need to visit. But if you do, what an incredible place, such love and care for patients and family.
St Mary's Hospice is the dedicated provider in South Cumbria of comprehensive specialised supportive and palliative care for people with life limiting conditions. The facilities and services are available to all adults who are facing the end of life, and to their families, carers and the bereaved.
We are planning to raise as much money as possible for St Mary’s Hospice by taking a team of walkers over the 4 3000's in the Lake District; Skiddaw and Helvellyn on day one and Scafell and Scafell Pike on day 2.
We both love the outdoors and believe our Mum would be very proud of us for achieving this. Mum absolutely loved the fells and summited many of them in her youth.
We currently have a team of 4 walkers but if you feel that you would like to join us then get in touch, we will be walking over the weekend of the 24th September 2011.
