Hill walking and mountain climbing has always been one of my favourite hobbies. As my father was a teacher I was raised on long family school holidays camping in the Dales, Lakes, Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia, to name but a few places, scaling the summits and learning to love the British mountains and countryside. As an adult these trips have extended beyond the UK. 

The opportunity to climb Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak (19,341ft/5895m), while at the same time raising funds for Mind, is one I could not miss. Spending time in the mountains restores my physical and mental well-being. They also represent the ups and downs of life which we all face no matter who we are.

I have had my personal ups and downs and challenges with my physical and mental health. How apt then to devote this experience to so important a cause as Mind. Your help and support will be invaluable in making this a life changing experience for me and more importantly for those I can help through the money I raise.
