Most of you know that my beautiful son Lee was disabled.
Lee LOVED people.
The one thing in life that made him the happiest was being with friends.
But because Lee couldn't talk or walk, it wasn't as easy for him to make friends.
Lee would have loved Circles Network.........
His brilliant sister Linzi, works for a charity called Circles Network who help bring the community and friendships to those who need it most
Circles Network works alongside families, young people, children, adults, older people, disabled people, people with learning difficulties and people with mental health issues in fact anyone who may be experiencing exclusion. They work, one person at a time, in a person centred way to make a positive difference to people’s lives and the communities they live in.
Alongside other charities in the current financial climate they are finding themselves in a position where they need to raise some funds to continue their important work in reducing the isolation and loneliness of disabled and disadvantaged children and young people. The most simple and effective way of achieving this is through developing a Circle of Support. These are groups of people who get together around a child or young person and support them to realise their dreams and have more control over their lives whilst creating strong friendships at the same time. You just need a facilitator to get it going.
Circles Network wasn't here when Lee was alive, but it is now...... and as long as we can keep it going it will help a lot of people like Lee.
So .... we thought we'd set ourselves the challenge of raising £5,000.00 by April 1st 2012 to support this work and have made it really easy by setting up our own just giving page. Any donation is appreciated however great or small and together we can do this, I just know it !
Thanks !!
