Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Dear Everyone
I will be participating in an event called “The 3 Peaks Challenge” along with many other interns’ throughout the UK. The aim of this challenge is to climb the 3 highest peaks in the UK within 24 Hours.
In total I will be walking 24 miles, which is almost a full marathon, and walk 10 000 feet of ascent. (My feet blister just by thinking of this!)
The highest of the three mountains is Ben Nevis in Scotland with an elevation of 1344m. We will then be rushing down to Scafell Pike in the Lake District to walk up the 978m. Finally, we will reach Snowdon in Wales, where we would climb the last 1085m.
The important reason why we are putting ourselfs through this challenge filled with excruciation blisters and aching muscles is to help 13-30 year olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. We are raising money for the Princes Trust Charity who gives practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills such as confidence and motivation for this group of people. They have already helped more than 600,000 young people since 1976 and support 100 more each working day. Especially in the current economic climate it is important to give this youth the skills and hope for a better future.
As an intern team over 50 interns has made the commitment to walk and raise money. Our target is to raise more than £20 000 for the Prince’s Trust so If you could lend some support it would be really appreciated.
