Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Adam stupidly said ‘well the only thing I’d do for charity is something that is really facing my fears like skydiving’. I said very casually ‘o right, would you do it for TB Alert?’ he replied ‘yeah if I do it then I will’. So still very casually I said ‘ would you do it?’ and his response was ‘only if you do it too’. I straight away said ‘deal’.
So we shook on our legally binding verbal agreement (neither of us can get out of it now). Reality soon set in so we are very scared but it's now booked for 20th August at the North London Skydive centre and will be facing our fears for TB Alert. We just now need sponsors so there is no way we can back out!
Just to put this into perspective, we are both petrified of heights, Adam more so than Karina (he cannot even look out of his bedroom window without having a case of vertigo). I am just ridiculously scared of escalators and anything that moves at a height (the whole moving and being so far from the non moving ground) which isn’t very good being in London or planning a skydive.
Why TB Alert: TB Alert is a charity close to our hearts as Karina battled with the illness for the 18 months in and out of hospital and came close to losing internal organs. Karina is now clear of TB but each day suffer from the after effects as Karina is now left with 'incurable illnesses' that she will be stuck with for life. All of this could have been prevented if early diagnosis of TB was made and the right drugs prescribed from the beginning. Over a million people die every year from TB and there is absolutely no reason why they should as TB is a curable illness! http://www.tbalert.org/ find out more about TB http://www.thetruthabouttb.org/
