Thank You for taking the time to visit my Great Football Giveaway JustGiving page.

What does the Great Football Giveaway do?

Put simply, we buy footballs with donations from you, our supporters, and give them direct to children living in poor rural areas of Africa.  In the last few years our volunteers have hand delivered over 15,000 footballs and netballs direct to kids in some of the poorest rural areas of Malawi, Uganda, Angola, Zambia and Rwanda. It costs approximately £10 per ball to purchase, send them to Africa and then hand deliver all over the country.

What am I going to be doing?

On October 26th of this year myself, my best mate Duncan and Disco from New York  will be visiting Tanzania to deliver the first phase of a project which will see us deliver around 6,000 footballs (and netballs) to some of the poorest and poverty stricken areas of rural Tanzania. We will be visiting rural schools with no sports facilities,  orphanages and refugee camps or community projects doing everything they can to survive. By giving a football or netball we will be allowing the children to have fun but also to get healthy and active through excercise.

How can you help?

2010 has undoubtedly been dominated by World Cup fever; The Great Football Giveaway provides you with a fantastic opportunity to show what is really important about this wonderful game and how football can be used as a force for good.

My promise to you is that for every £10 you donate, I'll promise to personally deliver that ball straight into the hands (or feet) of some of the most disadvantaged children in the world.

No admin costs will be deducted as the team going out to Africa will be funding themselves. In short, this is one of the few charitable donations you can make where every penny goes towards the end cause.

Thank you so much.

About The Great Football Giveaway

The Great Football Giveaway (GFG) is a registered charity (UK reg. 1113148) that relies 100% on volunteers i.e. we don't have any paid staff or rented offices. Any funds donated go directly into buying balls, pumps, valves, transport costs and other costs directly associated with the projects. As soon as enough balls are collected to fill one shipping container, donations go towards more footballs for future projects.
