Story
Three lads, one awesome quest:
To complete the London marathon, raise as much money for charity as possible, and not die in the process!
The team:
Henry 'Blanch' Blanchard, 21, Studies Astrophysics, loves dyeing his hair and saying stupid things
Matt Edwards,18, the baby of the team, Studies Geography, fanatical about Charlton Athletic (Don't mention relegation!)
Robin Southwood, 20, Economist, likes his rugby and his beer almost as much as running 26.2 miles
We are raising money for Sense, a really awesome charity that enables children and adults who are both blind and deaf to lead better and more independant lives.
Guys, we are running with golden bond places, which means if we do not raise the £4200 we have pledged to the charity, we will not be able to run- at this late stage, it would be impossible to replace us, so we let the charity, the children, and ourselves down!
Basically, we are asking everyone we know (including YOU!) to donate to this worthwhile charity and show your support for us giving up so much of our time to do this massive challenge.
Reasons to donate LOTS of your lovely money:
a) We are running the London marathon! This is a big deal! We have been training for a while!
b) Matt hasn't had a drink since 15th February! He has been a tee-total student for a LONG time!
c) Blanch is running the marathon in $6 trainers he bought in vietnam.... weirdo!
d) Robin isn't built for speed :)
e) The charity is a really worthwhile one!
and as Matt so wittily remarked,
"Go on, it makes Sense to donate..."
Let's hope his running's better than his banter...
Thank you SO much for your help- it means so much to us, and the charity!
Blanch (the fit one), Matt (the skinny one), Robin (the cumbersome one)
UPDATE!!!!
WE DID IT!!
Final Times:
Blanch 4:35
Robin 5:08
Matt 6:15
Though we should probably say that Matt was pulled over by medical staff at mile 12, and told NOT to continue, as he has a stress fracture of his shin. Undaunted, the fearless lad continued, and can now truthfully claim to have run the marathon on a broken leg!
Thanks to everyone who sponsored- we are still a few hundred pounds short of what we need, so keep donating generously!
Many many thanks-
The boys :)
