Sony Ericsson Run to the Beat Half Marathon 2009 · 27 September 2009 ·

Cransley Hospice provides hospice care for North Northants. It is also the base for Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurses who provide specialist care in hospital and at home. Although within the NHS the Hospice relies heavily on charitable donations with the current target being over £850,000

Story

Sadly, my friend and colleague Ian Wright passed away in July after a short stay at this amazing hospice(http://enable06.myenable.com/enabledsites/cransley/?page=home&subpage=227293.) I promised him that I would take part in the Run to the Beat half marathon on 27 September to raise as much as I can to help them provide care to others and to their families at this difficult time.

Well they say a picture paints a 1000 words and this photo speaks for itself! I am delighted and rather surprised to be able to say I actually did it  and as requested in an Everton shirt (Ian's favorite team). Sunday was a little warm to run (to say the least) however I did my best  and with all your kind donations I have raised  well over £500 - twice my target! Thank you again for your support. I can honestly say without it I would never have done this!  But it is going to such a great cause.

If anyone would still like to contribute  please do! The hospice would be delighted and from the photo you can see I have kept my side of the bargain!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Any donations I receive they send directly to the hospice and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it is a great way to raise more money whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Many thanks!

Kate
