Story

All done now! Thanks to everyone for your help and support and well done to all the runners :-)

Hi Everyone!

Six fearless members of the O2 online team – Martin, Michelle, Laurence, Tiffany,  Di and Kate are taking on the challenge of the Windsor Half Marathon and are running in aid of a charity that has recently become very close to Kate.

In February of this year Kate’s mum, Diana, was told she had ovarian cancer. Diana continues to inspire her family and friends with her outstanding attitude and strong determination to fight this disease. She also looks as glamorous as ever to the amazement and envy of all of her friends!

Ovarian cancer is not usually detected early and awareness of what the symptoms are is low and so it is often missed. The Eve Appeal is a charity for gynaecological cancers and needs money for research and raising awareness.

On 27th September we will be running the Windsor Half Marathon (13.2 miles!) to raise money for the Eve Appeal and would be incredibly grateful for sponsorship! Training is certainly proving interesting … we’ve learnt that we don’t like running up hills, it’s best not to go running after a few drinks the night before and not advisable to wear black when running in 28 degree heat. However, with that in mind our will is unfaltering and as honed athletes we are sure we will still be able to finish the 13.2 miles in a respectable time (which we may round down if we feel it’s required!).

Thanks for everyone’s support - will recruit a photographer on the day for photographic evidence so that you know your money was worth it!
