Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page in memory of my father, Maurice York.  It has been 25 years since he lost his battle against a brain tumour and I lost a loving father who had always encouraged and inspired me to succeed.  It seemed fitting for me to take on this challenge which will be a real test of my determination to succeed - my fitness alone won't get me from Edale to Kirk Yetholm but my determination 'to never give up' will.  I will be walking with my sister-in-law and, as with all of our previous distance walks, we will no doubt have many 'adventures' along the way and collect special memories to treasure. I remember with much happiness all of the walks that we have completed together over the years, just as I remember the person who has inspired me to do this one.  Memories to treasure for ever.

If you’d like to make a donation to Brain Tumour Research I’d be very grateful, as it will help them raise funds for brain tumour research to improve survival rates across the UK. Thank you.
