Never one to turn down a challenge, I made the (rather mad) decision to join in the Canal & River Trust's first sponsored event - to cycle 300 miles from London to Brussels!

We depart from Paddington on 31st August on the first of 4 days of cycling (91 miles) before taking an overnight ferry to Hook of Holland.  The next 3 days we'll cycle a further 200+ miles to Amsterdam, onto Breda and finally ending up in Brussels (hopefully!)

I have worked for British Waterways for 11 years, in various roles and truly believe in all the great work that goes into maintaining the waterways of England & Wales.  As we embark on a new adventure as a charity, known as the Canal & River Trust, I would really value your support in helping us continue with our work.

Thanks to the generosity of our corporate sponsors, all of the costs of this event have been paid for, meaning that you can be assurred that your entire donation will be spent directly on work to conserve, restore, enhance and educate people about our 200 year old network of waterways.
