Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I, and my great travelling friend Lulu, have decided to begin 2010 in an alternative fashion; on the 1st of January we embark on an Adventure, to drive ourselves from Pokhara in the Himalayas, to Cochin in South India in a 3 wheeled, untrusty auto rickshaw. We are racing against 59 teams, and our “unroute” will be approximately 5,000km through this phenomenal country.  We shall face bandits (maybe?), mountains, jungles, highways of some of the most inhospitable roads in the world, aiming to avoid dangerous encounters with holy cows, trucks, snakes (whilst peeing in the bushes), cycles, Delhi belly and the rest.  We have 2 weeks in which to achieve this, and from what I have been told, this will be heaven and hell in equal measure. 12 hours a day driving in the equivalent of a scooter washing machine, no back up, no real plan, just us, and a naan of charm!

Cancer Vaccine Institute (CVI) is the only national charity in the UK exclusively funding research to fight cancer with vaccines and immunotherapy. We are determined to develop a better treatment for cancer to help patients live longer with a better quality of life.  Every donation will be so appreciated by me and by CVI.

Thank you in advance.

Kate
