Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·

With a new blood cancer diagnosis every 27 seconds worldwide, Cure Leukaemia funds research nurses at UK blood cancer centres, giving patients access to treatments through clinical trials. This support drives global significant advancements in blood cancer, impacting those affected by the disease.

Story

Before 2012 i had never known anyone who had suffered from leukaemia but ever since Easter last year when little Darcy Blakeman was diagnosed it seems to be constantly present in friends and my family members lives. Unfortunately its too late to save Hayley Martin, my sisters best friend, who died from this awful illness back in November aged 23.  However there are charities out there who are trying to find a CURE to prevent this illness.

I will be running my debut marathon at London on Sunday 21st April 2013 which will be a huge challenge to me and will take a lot of strength and determination to complete. Finishing a marathon is surely nothing compared to battling leukaemia though.
