Thanks for visiting our fundraising page! Together we want to raise money for the charity SENSE. So how do we plan to do this?! Well as a good friend put it … “These two reformed old soaks are determined to run the London Marathon 2012 and raise bundles of cash for their charity SENSE …. Probably the only time Tanya and Kate will have anything to do with “sense”!! The two beaten up old reprobates are determined to put down their wine glasses for a few months and are utterly committed to crossing the finish line together despite any challenges a foot (or two)!!” And he's right. We are utterly dedicated to raising money for SENSE. It is a charity close to our hearts, raising money for deafblind people, particularly kids. Deaf blindness touched our lives when a lovely friend had an amazing little girl called Kiera, who was born deafblind. Kiera and her mum and dad have given us an intimate insight into the difficulties of living with no vision and no hearing. The complications of Kiera doing even the simplest of every day tasks require such a level of concentration, teaching, learning and energy from Kiera and her parents. This little girl’s life needs high levels of expertise every minute of every day. SENSE is the only organisation that works with the deafblind children. Their advice, communication and support has an invaluable impact on both deafblind children and their families. We have seen firsthand the difference SENSE has made to Kiera and her family and we appreciate all the support you can give our efforts. You'll see our fundraising target on the right.
