Why am I taking on the challenge of this ridiculously long bike ride when I'm no cyclist and currently trainning on a mountain bike?

Basically because Bliss is a great cause, one I feel close to personally.  Some of you may know our eldest son Oliver was born 7 weeks early and spent the first 3 weeks of his life in special care being fed through a tube in his nose.  It's a strange experience to watch someone else looking after your baby in the precious first days of their life.  As parents we felt worried and helpless. I'm happy to say the care Oliver received was excellent and he's now a healthy, happy, rugby-playing 7yr old! 

This year I also have a 'significant' birthday and am looking forward to marking it with this massive physical challenge!  Not to mention of course showing the kids there's a little more to Mum than cooking and taxi driving...
