Story
Heya,
I'll be climbing Kili in September, to raise money for Marie Curie, who did such a fantastic job of looking after my mum, enabling her to stay at home throughout her illness.
My company will be subsidising 50% of this trip and I will pay the rest, so all of the money raised here will go directly to Marie Curie.
At 5,895m, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and also the highest freestanding peak in the world. At this height, there is a risk of altitude sickness. We will be maximising our chances of summiting by doing an acclimatisation trek first, then taking an extra day to ascend Kili itself. However, if any of us show signs of illness we will be taken down. I will not have any choice in this, so please sponsor me for the attempt, not the summit!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support,
Kate xx
