Story

18th March, 2008 -

I have just returned from Nepal and am excited to confirm that I successfully trekked to Everest Base Camp and reached the summit of Kala Patthar. It has been an amazing adventure and I was privileged to be part of a great team from Accenture and VSO.

We were able to visit one of the schools that VSO supports and see the positive impact that this organisation has made to the children and teachers who support them. Thank you very much to everyone who generously supported VSO and helped me to reach my fundraising target of £5000! Your money will make a huge difference.

Hi Folks - Thank you for taking the time to visiting my fundraising page.

The Everest Base Camp challenge is a charity project set up by Accenture employees to raise money in support of the VSO education programme in Nepal, helping the next generation of Nepalese to fulfil their potential.

The Challenge: I will undertake a fourteen day trek to reach Everest expedition base camp and on to Kala Pattar, reaching 5545m above sea level. The trek is in February 2008, but all funds need to be raised by the end of this year. I'm targeting £5000.00 in total, so every contribution helps.

Find out more about VSO's work at http://www.vso.org.uk/about/ and  http://www.vso.org.uk/about/cprofiles/nepal.asp

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Voluntary Service Overseas will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

Kate  :-)
