I am taking part in several challenges over the next few months to raise money for Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK as part of The Fabulous 40 - Fighting to Reverse Rett fundraising team.

For those of you not already in the know about the Fab 40, it has been created by my Aunt, Helen, to help raise funds to speed up research into treatment and curing Rett Syndrome. Between February 2013 and February 2014 the aim is for at least 40 fundraisers to take place so we can make as big a contribution as possible to give my little cousin, Lauren, and all the other girls suffering with Rett Syndrome a brighter future.

Beginning on March 31st 2013 is the 5X50 challenge where I will be completing 5k everyday for 50 days, ending on 19th May. I will be doing this a number of various ways - running, cycling, walking.....any other suggestions welcome!

I hope this will lead me very nicely onto challenge number 2 - the British 10k in London on 14th July 2013. Now I know 10k is not the furthest distance anyone has ever run but I'm not very good at running, so 10k is really quite a challenge. Last year I completed the same course by walking and running in 1hr 20 mins. So this year I am raising my personal bar to try and run the whole thing and complete it in a faster time.

In addition to these there may even be a bike ride or two scattered in there as well, so I will keep you updated as the plans emerge!
