Leeds RAG Bike To Berlin 2014 · 8 June 2014

The Laura Crane Trust became Project Youth Cancer on World Cancer Day 2023 and supports teenagers and young adults with cancer, through treatment and beyond. Project Youth Cancer invests in the future of cancer patients through age-targeted research and offers a range of mental wellbeing support.

Story

After not having touched a bike since the age of 13 I decided it was about time to get back in the saddle, and cycle to Berlin.... As crazy as that sounds! On the 8th June I will begin the almost 600 mile ride from Leeds University, travelling to the east of England, the over to Holland, and lastly through Germany, reaching our destination (fingers crossed) on the 16th June.

We are completing this challenge in aid of the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust. Laura Crane is the only UK charity funding medical research specifically into cancer affecting teenagers and young adults, where it can frequently strike in dangerous and complex forms. The Trust also funds measures to improve the quality of life for young cancer patients, both during and in the aftermath of their illnesses. Support is offered to all of the hospitals throughout the UK which treat teenage cancer (currently just 29). What a fantastic reason to take on this challenge!
